TIFFANIE

The Tiffanie looks like a longhaired Burmese and is a Bi product of the Burmilla breeding programme, which crossed Burmese with Chinchillas. In due course, as the breeding programme progressed, kittens turned up which had longhair. It was decided to make these a new breed, the desired type to be Burmese. They have become part of the the Asian group of cats.

They are not to be confused with the American Tiffany, which is a different breed entirely.

They have a lovely nature and are possibly due to their Chinchilla ancestors they are reported to be a little quieter than the Burmese. An ideal family pet, with a coat that although needs attention daily, is not such hard work as the Persian coat.
